Just Vision presents Encounter Point : a documentary on Israelis and Palestinians working on Peace

Just Vision, is a nonprofit organization that believes in the value of cooperative Palestinian and Israeli efforts to build a sustainable, free and safe future for all, and the importance of media coverage for these courageous endeavors. Just Vision released an award-winning feature documentary, Encounter Point, in April 2006. The film follows the stories of a handful of ordinary Palestinian and Israeli civilians who overcame personal tragedies and grief and endured the harshest consequences of the conflict yet chose to partner with their supposed enemies in order to resolve the conflict non-violently.
Encounter Point's production team of young women includes: director & producer Ronit Avni, co-director Julia Bacha, producers Nahanni Rous and Joline Makhlouf. The documentary is a response to the lack of media coverage about civilian joint efforts in the region. Just Vision informs local and international audiences about under-documented Palestinian and Israeli joint civilian efforts to resolve the conflict nonviolently. Using media and educational tools, it raises awareness in order to encourage civic participation in grassroots peace building.
« We also believe that there is no silver bullet to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; a lasting solution will require participation from everyone in every sector. Civil society therefore has a significant role to play in catalyzing a diplomatic resolution to the conflict ».
Encounter Point has screened to over 10,000 people in 150 cities across North America and the Middle East as well as to millions when it broadcast on CBC Television in Canada and on Al Arabiya, one of the largest Arabic satellite stations in the world.

The World Congress of Imams and Rabbis for Peace declares “2008 to be the year of Peace Initiatives for Reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians”.
From 21 September 2007 to 31 December 2008, The World Congress of Imams and Rabbis for Peace undertakes and supports Peace Initiatives for Reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians. Citizens from all over the world who desire and want peace are invited to join this action.
